Overview
Wharton Street Warehouse is a hidden gem of a skatepark in Philly. You’ll need to enter through the large metal gate to the right of the purple building. It doesn’t feel like you should be able to walk back there but to the left is a door labeled R with a Grateful Dead sticker. This is a private park, you’ll need a code to enter.
Inside is a beautiful, gnarly wooden bowl with three main areas: a medium sized wooden bowl, a concrete hump and a wooden “deep end” pocket. The wooden parts of the bowl have metal coping, with some of that signature 5th Pocket cross hatched texture. Above the concrete section is pool coping.
All along the top deck of the bowl are various obstacles such as ledges, roll-ins and wall rides but be careful, there’s not much room to walk and maneuver up there, let alone skate!
