Overview

When it comes to DIY skate spots, FDR is the mecca. Whatever you’re imagining in your head, this place is bigger; not just in square footage but the ramps are huge, fast and steep. Just outside the main park is smaller “slappy” street area by the parking lot with a bunch of goofy obstacles.

One of the things that makes FDR so difficult to skate is that there’s no pre-defined flow. It’s like the park is what it is and you just have to deal with it. Another thing that’s tough is how much dead space there is in the middle of the park. You really need to be cruising to get from one side to the other without pushing.
