Macungie, PA
Lower Macungie Skatepark
Address
Overview
Lower Macungie is a little hard to find, which actually adds to the atmosphere. The park is located in an unused tennis court, surrounded by trees which create a nice privacy barrier.
There is a natural bank along one side of the park that makes more sense as a skatepark than a tennis court. The ramps are a Frankenstein of prefabbed parts and concrete and metal DIY. This place is in rough shape but there’s a lot of love and honestly, I’ve seen city-run parks in worse condition. There’s even something new being built in one of the corners.
Everything in the park has an element of scrappy DIY… even the broom is a broom head nailed onto a 2x4.
The park is what skateboarding is all about. Creativity, resourcefulness, a little insanity.
